Boring Love

I want a boring kind of love. The kind where I’m so sure of this Love that the concept of walking on eggshells takes on an entirely different meaning. Instead of treading softly and being afraid that one misplaced word would incite turbulence, I would walk lightly because I’d be uplifted by Love’s tenderness. The kind of Love that doesn’t pull me into its emotional rollercoasters but provides shelter from them when life does. The stable, soft, grounded, thoughtful, open-ended Love, bathed in teardrops that come in gentle waves when a reflection of what lies in my own heart is reflected back to me.
